Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health Announces Expansion of Acute Care Unit

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health, a nationally recognized autism- focused residential behavioral health center located near Greenville, S.C., has recently announced its expansion of its Acute Autism Care Unit. This latest development adds 10 new beds to the facility, aimed at addressing the increasing demand for autism treatment services in the area.

“Springbrook’s mission has always been to treat as many children as possible while maintaining the highest quality of care,” said Mike Rowley, CEO and administrator at Springbrook. “By expanding our Acute Care Unit, our dedicated care team can support more children on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities who experience severe or persistent behavioral issues, such as aggression, self-injurious behaviors, or mental health disorders that cannot be managed at home or in school programs.”

This expansion reflects Springbrook’s ongoing commitment to breaking down barriers to high- quality behavioral health care for children and families affected by autism. By increasing the capacity of its Acute Care Unit, Springbrook can provide even more children with timely access to essential treatment services that support stabilization, long-term growth and, ultimately, success beyond diagnosis.

For more than 40 years, Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health has used evidence-based treatments and therapies to create a solid foundation for long-term well-being and success during and beyond residential treatment. The Acute Care Unit is designed to leverage the principles of success of this proven model by integrating the residential program’s successful concepts into an intense, short-term treatment and stabilization program, blending the need for treatment with efficiency and thoughtful care. The 10 additional beds will allow Springbrook to respond more effectively to urgent needs in the autism community, offering ASD families a trusted and specialized option for inpatient behavioral care. This expansion ultimately supports Springbrook’s broader vision to ensure that every child in need of autism services has access to the support and treatment they deserve to thrive.
